Travel insurance required for D7 and D8 visas

One of the most important documents in the immigration process to Portugal is travel insurance. It is compulsory for both the D7 and D8 visas.

The rule is clear: the insurance must cover at least €30,000, including medical expenses and repatriation, and be valid for at least 12 months. If these requirements are not met, the visa application may be refused.

Many people make the mistake of taking out basic travel insurance that doesn’t meet the required values. That’s why it’s essential to choose a suitable plan and check all the details of the policy before contracting it.
